Over 900 runners and walkers participated in this year's 5&10K Suntree Turkeytrot Fun Run supporting the Brent R. Gooch Fund of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF). This was the 8th year for the event which was held at the Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, FL and included runners from as far away as San Fransisco, CA and Stuttgart, Germany. History

The Suntree Turkey Trot 5K/10K Fun Run/Walk was created to honor the late Dr. Brent Gooch, a Suntree resident who spent his life treating and seeking a cure for diabetes. Although a diabetic from his youth, Brent's courage and caring were a daily inspiration to his family, friends and patients. This event commemorates his commitment to fitness and his zest for life & family.
